Craig Oldham
A recent discovery of mine is Craig Oldham, a no-nonsense designer based in Manchester. I took an interest in Craig’s work as I liked his approach to design, he views it as a ‘means, not an end’. The idea that design is only valuable or effective if the content is, no matter what you are producing as a designer it needs to have context and appropriate content. I thought this was an interesting way to view the value of design and the array of things a designer needs to be aware of to create work that is effective.
Craig has published a number of books on the minor strikes and even advice for new designers which has a no-filter approach. Recently he has responded to the coronavirus with a reactive poster aimed at key workers.
